Summer Daze

Greetings! I haven't updated the blog in a little while, partly because I didn't think I had any good stories to tell. We've kinda just been hanging close to home since we went to San Diego. But after I started uploading photos...I decided we have had some good fun! It started with a lovely lunch we had with some of my friends from work at one of the yummiest & hippest little lunch spots - Le Gran Orange.
Silas is very lucky to have so many "aunties"...
Then Karen spent a night up in Flagstaff with Silas & I. Well...sort of. I had a meeting all day so we drove up early that morning and enjoyed the day in the cool pines. We even went out to dinner with a good friend (see below). But our night was a short one because Silas wasn't so sure he liked sleeping in a tent...so we ended up leaving rather early (3am). We're not giving up on camping, though. Matt, Silas & I are actually trying again this weekend!!
Oh yea - Silas is getting good at 'giving 5'.
I love how he's checking out Rosemary's belly in this one. Almost like he knows there is a little person in there!
And then back at home, we've been reading lots of stories...
and playing with friends.
We've also been beating the heat in Silas' special swimming pool. (Shhhhhh - don't tell him it is only a plastic box!)
Just add bubbles and kitchen utensils...and you've got loads of fun!
Silas has also been practicing his driving skills. Notice the intensity...even with doggie distractions!

Hope you've enjoyed the little update on our summer...

Surfer Dude

Phew - May and June have really flown by. It is my busiest time at work (camp season!) - and then Matt has been extra busy at work too. But we did find time to escape to cool, wonderful San Diego for the annual Blake Family migration. And, despite the fact we (Silas, Matt & I) all caught a nasty cold - we had so much fun and really enjoyed the reprieve from the Phoenix heat. I think Silas even has a promising future as a surfer. So, in my lame attempt to at least get something posted on the blog before Silas is walking (or at least crawling...which seems to be just around the corner), I've just posted one photo and am now inviting you to check out our family photos on my Dad's Flickr page.
Until next time...
