Rocks for Brains

I've received a lot of comments from the last post. One person (who shall remain nameless) told me I must have "rocks for brains". Others have more subtly suggested Silas wear a bib or go shirtless. So now I have to say, I don't normally let him make such a mess with his food. But, then again, maybe I do have rocks for brains because I let him do it again the following day...this time while we were making pumpkin cookies. (Though, notice, he is shirtless this time!)

I can't help it...Silas (and I) have so much fun making messes. Though the fun sometimes ends in tears. Check it out:

PS - Happy Birthday MaMarcia!! Just think, if you weren't so far away in Costa Rica...we might be mixing up a cake for you today. Though I don't know how many people would want to sample Silas' cooking just yet. It is a little "hands-on".

Eat your greens

So, Silas pretty much just eats 'people food' these days. (Which is really big people food...but it seems to always get referred to that way. And actually, he does eat dog food sometimes!) Anyhow, the one babyfood-type thing he still eats everyday is mixed greens (spinach, kale, bok choy, etc.) cooked & blended up & mixed into plain yogurt. He loves it and I love that he eats super green veggies everyday. I wish I could say the same thing for me.

In general we've been working on 'self-feeding' so I let him go crazy with his yogurt this morning. And, boy, did he ever! Check it out:

Other things we did this morning included playing in the dog's water bowl:

And sweeping the floor (with another video link coming soon for your viewing pleasure). Such a helpful little boy!NOTE: He did start the day with pants & shoes/socks. But, after repeatedly dipping them in the water bowl, we took them off.
